Drop in a pile of invoices, receipts or statements — even phone photos. TidyFello reads each file on your device, finds the date, business and amount, and renames the whole batch in seconds. So scan0481.pdf becomes 2026-03-14_AcmeCorp_INV-4471.pdf.

Three steps, all on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded.
TidyFello opens each file on your device and pulls out the words — invoice numbers, dates, the business name up top, the total. Digital PDFs read instantly.
Smart rules find the date in any format, the business name, the reference number and the dollar amount — then slot them into the name you chose.
Skim every new name, fix any by hand, then grab one ZIP with everything renamed — and, if you like, sorted into folders. Done in seconds.
If you've ever opened a folder of scan001.pdf through scan300.pdf and felt your soul leave your body — this is for you.
No — this is the whole point. Everything, from reading the files to extracting the text to building the ZIP, happens on your device in your browser. Your documents never touch a server. You could disconnect your internet after the page loads and it would still work. That's why it's safe for confidential client files, financial records and legal documents.
Yes. Drop in a photo or scan (JPG, PNG, HEIC, or an image-only PDF) and TidyFello reads the text right on your device using built-in OCR — no upload, still completely private. Perfect for tax-time receipts snapped on your phone. Two honest notes: photos take a few seconds each to read (digital PDFs are near-instant), and accuracy depends on the photo — a sharp, straight-on, well-lit shot reads far better than a blurry or angled one. Always glance at the suggested name before downloading; every name is editable.
On clean digital PDFs it's effectively exact. On photos it's very good but not perfect — OCR reads around 85–95% depending on image quality, so it can occasionally misread a digit or pick the wrong line for the business. Two honest limits: very blurry or low-resolution photos may not read at all (TidyFello flags these so you know to retake or fix them), and handwritten text can't be read reliably. TidyFello flags anything it read from an image and lets you fix any name in one click, so a wrong guess is always visible and correctable — it never silently mangles a file. For best results, follow the photo tips shown above the tool.
The free tool fully renames up to 5 files per batch with every template and option — it's genuinely useful on its own. A Pro plan is coming soon that will raise the limit to hundreds of files per batch and add folder-sorting and saved presets, for the days you're clearing a whole folder.
It can't. TidyFello only reads your originals and writes brand-new renamed copies into a downloadable ZIP. The originals on your computer are never touched, moved or deleted.
TidyFello is an independent tool built by a small Australian studio. Questions: hello@tidyfello.com.
Drag a box around a detail on the image, then tell me what it is. I'll read just that spot. You can mark as many as you like.
